Politicians of the German anti-immigrant, nationalist party, AfD are regularly appearing on Hungarian state media, posing as the average German of the streets, who just happened to pass by.
- On March 20, 2018, Michael Poschart complained that the doorbells on his house feature more and more foreign names and whenever migrants move to a neighborhood, Germans move out. When migrants’ proportion grows above 30%, to be precise. He was speaking on the streets of Hamburg, but Michael Poschart is an AfD politician in Pinneberg, Schleswig-Holstein. It was never mentioned in the Hungarian news segment.
Another concerned citizen, Olaf Grohnwald, from Baden-Württemberg, complained that he was one of those who moved out away because four unaccompanied refugee minors were moved next door. He even bought a dog, but that wasn’t enough. Olaf is active in AfD Schönbuch, but that was not mentioned in the Hungarian news segment. He was called “a local man” and explained how the city leaders always take refugees’ side.
Benjamin Haupt complained about crimes committed by refugees a few days before elections in Hungary in April 2018. Benjamin Haupt also happens to be the district president of AfD Speyer. But that was not disclosed in the Hungarian news segment.
The editors and workers of the public broadcaster(and any other part of Fidesz-media controlled by Orbán) would be fired if they ever failed to deliver to expectations. And one can apparently never be too fanatical.
